All About Emerald Marie

Photo of me

Hello! You're here! Welcome to Emerald Marie! This first post is dedicated to sharing a bit about myself and sharing a couple photographs to show what I love to do. The first photograph is of me in a 1950s purple velvet dress and vintage pillbox hat that I wore for a photo shoot (I wasn't the model for the photo shoot but hey, a photographer needs photos of themselves

sometimes too, right?)

I will admit first and foremost that I have an incurable case of nostalgia. . . I enjoy candid moments, beauty, and dwelling on the past. I began to enjoy vintage and wanted to pursue that in my photography at two points in my life: one being when I first watched "Midnight in Paris", the other when I heard the Chet Baker song "My Funny Valentine", both are very romantic and focus heavily on the past. The reason I do vintage photography resides within what I believe to be timeless and my own perception of beauty. This blog is dedicated to my photography as well as hopefully a place for people to connect to my love for vintage.

I plan to have videos of photo shoots, updates on new projects, and opportunities to purchase photographs/books plus much more! I'm very excited to start sharing some of the passions in my life and I am exceptionally grateful to be able to have an opportunity to do so.

A little bit more about me; I'm a student, I love costuming, puzzles, chocolate, Scotty dogs, and Bilbo Baggins. My favorite music is Jazz and Rock 'n' Roll. I love movies, although I would not call myself a film critic because I hate giving negative reviews. I love traditional darkroom photography (which you will see plenty of if you follow along for more and I so hope that you do). To end it off, my favorite T.V. shows are: Peaky Blinders, the Great British Bake Off, American Pickers, and Doctor Who!

Thanks for getting to know me a bit and I'll sign off with one of my favorite photographs I have taken, developed and printed in a traditional darkroom!

Thanks again,

Yours truly,

Happy reading,
